Abstract
This study was attempted to compare the depression and anxiety of the blind with those of the normal students.
The subjects of study were 200 normal and 111 blind students in age from 10 to 18 years.
For the purpose of quantitative measuring of the depression and anxiety, the self-rating depression scale(SDS) and the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) by Zung were used from April 1, 1980 to May 31, 1980.
The results were as follows:
1. The scores of SDS and SAS of the blind were significantly higher than those of the normal group.
2. The scores of SDS and SAS between the blind and normal group were significantly different in sex groups.
